Food for Thought
FOOD FOR OTHERSSharing the message
with our local community
Over the 10 day period the students from Cliff will be working with Catherine Ralph going into 4 of our local junior schools. They will be exploring with the pupils the benefits of having a faith and how this contributes to self-esteem.
The students will also be running:
• a Holiday Club for 5-ll’s on Saturday 13th on the theme of friendship with Jesus
• Youth Cafes for our young people in the Brigades and as an outreach into Lyndon School (12th, 19th) as an opportunity to discuss faith and its implications and
• a Community Fun Day (20th) celebrating Lyndon’s 50 years within the area.
The mission will culminate in a Seeker Service on Sunday 21st at 6.30 at Lyndon.
FOOD FOR US
Exploring our own
convictions and how
and how we share them
Over a chinese meal (evening 14th), at Luncheon Club (9th) and Women’s Fellowship (16th) and through our fellowship together we’ll be talking through our beliefs and whether we have a clear, meaningful message for those outside the church – and the confidence to share it.
The students from Cliff will also be picking up this theme when leading Parade (14th) in Main Church and REACH (21st).
FOOD FOR THE FUTURE
Developing plans for
Future evangelism
The mission is not a one off event but an investment in Lyndon’s future. As part of their work, one of the Cliff students will meet with us on Tuesday 16th to explore how we might think and plan strategically in this Calling. To make best use of this time we will meet on Tuesday 9th to form the questions we want to explore with Cliff College, to inform their thinking before the 16th.

Cliff College is a Methodist Training Centre established in Derbyshire in 1883, with a focus for mission and evangelism. In its early years it worked closely with Hudson Taylor, preparing missionaries for China.
Today it still has the same desire to share the good news with its motto “Christ for all – all for Christ” - its mission to engage with contemporary cultures in the UK and beyond, presenting the gospel in relevant, challenging and inspiring ways.
As part of their training, its students undertake missions in partnership with Methodist Churches across the country, offering a resource to enable and encourage churches in evangelism
A team of 6 students from the college will be joining Lyndon to support our mission - developing an understanding of the area and exploring with us how we can further release our potential to spread the good news.
